Eclix: Sparky Wellness

Eclix is a lightbulb brand that helps improve one's overall well-being. I was influenced to create this project for Eclix because it aligns with my interest in promoting emotional well-being and mental health. The Sparky Wellness series, focusing on mood lightbulbs designed to aid seasonal depression, offered a meaningful opportunity to merge design with a purpose-driven concept. Drawing inspiration from the brain and the night sky, I aimed to create artwork that symbolizes the product's scientific and emotional aspects. This project allowed me to explore how design can communicate care and innovative.

This project was carefully selected to be a part of a school exhibit called, Mind Your Mind 2023.

Brand Identity

This brand’s orientation focuses on mental health. Mental health has always been undermined less than physical health. The designs within the brain resemble constellations, however, they are brain molecules for neurotransmitters. The series will have different wattages for each neurotransmitter

The color pink takes after the brain and blue takes after the sky. The goal for the color, graphics, and bubbly typography is to make the package trendy, cozy, and approachable. This is a series of three. They all match, however, there are some minor contrasts to differentiate them. The name, color, and brain size are what make them different from each other.

Disclaimer: I do not own Eclix's logo. Credits go to a classmate. This logo was voted by the class to be used for the project, so I have no rights to the logo.

Sketches along the way…

The sketches were made as if the box were unfolded. I originally had the names, Sunny, Sunshine, and Brilliant to represent light. Upon making the first draft, the box started to look more like vitamin packaging than lightbulb packaging. Then I had an idea that using neurotransmitters would fit the brand a lot better.

Sketch for lightbulb packaging. Making a series of 3 with 40-watts, 60-watts, and 100-watts. They will all have similarities but will be able to differentiate between them.

First draft for the first 40-watt lightbulb packaging.

Second draft for the first 40-watt lightbulb packaging.
