Greenspace: San Ramon
This is a travel guide booklet meant to showcase a travel destination. Emerworld is derived from the word from the gemstone Emerald which is green. This was my first design that consisted of photography. We were given a task to choose a location in the Bay Area.
I chose San Ramon as my greenspace because they had a lot of beautiful scenery. Especially in the fall, this was the perfect opportunity to use nature to my advantage. I have learned you must take many photos to get the perfect few. I added some abstract graphics inspired by the musical single, Silhouettes and Outlines by Giuseppe Ottaviani, to have all these locations connect visually.

Brand Identity
This brand’s orientation focuses on spreading knowledge in different locations in the Bay Area. Non-Bay Area natives may only know a few things about San Francisco, but Emerworld will help showcase that there is more to the Bay Area than San Francisco.
The logo for Emerworld is an emerald portraying Earth with an airplane traveling around it. The monochromic colors of green represent the great outdoors and room for growth. The abstract lines and graphics symbolizes mobility and transportation.

Sketches along the way…
Before going on with the sketches, I took the photos first. I felt like this process would help me visualize what I wanted for the booklet. I made multiple trips to San Ramon because the weather was gloomy for most days. I was able to take some great photos because it was Fall and a lot of the greenery had a lot of pretty colors.
I sketched out three different booklet covers. Sketch A is the front and back covers. Sketch B is the interior of the book. All the sketches had some relations with each other, however I mainly focused on the negative and positive space.
