MOET: Shoe Brochure

This is a brochure about my favorite pair of shoes. Every shoe tells a story, and this brochure captures the story of my dancing shoes. Shuffling, my favorite form of dancing, brings life to these shoes, which hold countless memories of movement and rhythm. I own two pairs of dancing shoes in different colors, but the pink pair, one of my favorite colors, felt perfect for this project. The patina on these shoes adds depth, character, and a sense of personality, reflecting the journeys they’ve been on.

The challenge of this project was to convey the essence of these shoes using only typography and photography. To enhance the narrative, I incorporated props that were gifts from strangers and friends. These mementos enrich the story, connecting the shoes to the vibrant and joyful experiences they symbolize. This brochure is not just about shoes; it’s about movement, connection, and the stories we create through the art of dance.

Brand Identity

The Where the Ordinary is Extraordinary, also known as MOET is a museum for regular everyday items into something sentimental. The brochure is a part of the museum’s artifacts.

This brochure focuses on a pair of shoes to show its personality and uniqueness. The color scheme, dark gray, pink, and white embodies an underground techno vibe. The different hues of pink add a great accent to the images to create an after-effect.

Disclaimer: I do not own the logo for Where the Ordinary is Extraordinary. Credits go to a classmate named Monica. This logo was voted by the class to be used for the project, so I have no rights to the logo.

Sketches along the way…

I initially started taking the photos before I sketched everything out. I felt like this process would help me visualize what I wanted for the brochure. I wanted to go for a techno/vaporwave style. Then I realized that this might have looked too busy for what I initially wanted.

The challenge for this brochure was to not use any graphics. That means no glowing or neon effects. I used the photos and adjusted the tints to create an effect without using actual graphics.
